IWE 2014 – the Course of “International Welding Engineer 2014”
Theoretical and Practical Classes
The second group of "International Welding Engineer" successfully started in April 2014 in the Kazakhstan Institute of Welding (KIW) at Karaganda State Technical University (KSTU). The format of the second course for welding engineers is similar to the first one; it consists of 4 modules and is conducted in April - May and October - November. According to the IIW procedures it is required to conduct a periodic control of the theoretical and practical classes during international engineers training program. During each module, an independent observer from the French Institute of Welding supervises and attends the training classes. Observer from French Institute of Welding in April was Gaudin J. Paul in April the and in May the course was evaluated by Hance Gregory. The Lecturer Evaluation Report is submitted after each supervision by the representatives of the French Institute of Welding.
KazWeld Association monitors the practical classes in the labs. One of these monitoring visits took place on May 11, 2014, KazWeld Association attended the practical classes for international welding engineers held by KIW at KSTU (Director, Mr. I. Bartenev). It was monitored by the Executive Director of KazWeld Association, Dr. Prof. R. Abdurakhmanov and Manager of the Association, Mrs. A. Taranchieva. At the practical classes the course participants performed manual arc welding with stick electrodes, argon arc welding with tungsten electrodes, as well as carbon dioxide shielded arc welding. Mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum and aluminum alloys were used as sample materials for welding. The monitoring showed a full compliance of the conducted training sessions with the IIW requirements.
