KazWeld Broadcast on “24.kz” news channel

Reportage on the Kazakhstan Welding Association and Kazakhstan Institute of Welding was broadcasted in the news channel “24.kz” on June 4, 2014.

Welders and engineers of the international level will be trained in Kazakhstan.

About 100 welders, engineers and world-class instructors will be trained in Kazakhstan before the end of the year. Specialists trained by the world standards, will not only obtain knowledge, but also diplomas, which will be valid in 56 countries.

During a period of two years, 300 technical specialists have already been trained in Kazakhstan. The initiator of the project was the French oil & gas company "Total". This company has already invested half a million euros in development of the training program. Over time it is expected that the problem with shortage of personnel in the Oil & Gas and Metals Industries in our country will be solved. Once unpopular specialty "welder" is in high demand in our country now. The number of applicants wish to obtain the relative international diploma grows every year. But it is not so easy to participate in these courses. Applicants must go through the selection process and access conditions. For example, out of 200 candidates only 20 of them succeeded this year.

Rustambek Abdurakhmanov, the Executive Director of the Kazakhstan Welding Association “KazWeld”:

- In order to get the world-class welding engineer diploma you need to have university degree in engineering and at least 3 years of work experience.

Now the technical specialists are trained on the basis of 9 approved training centers: in Astana, as well as in Mangistau, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Aktobe and Karaganda Oblasts. Professors of the French Institute of Welding teach the basics of welding operations to these specialists. In addition to the theory there will be also practical classes held within a six-month training course.

Igor Bartenev, Director of Kazakhstan Institute of Welding:

- Huge work has been carried out by "Total". Great amount of funds have been invested in arrangement of the first courses. The French Institute of Welding provided us with teaching materials. This company is very active and contributes a lot to the economy of Kazakhstan.

It is expected that the list of welding specialists will be already expanded in this summer. Not only welders and engineers, but also welder-technologists, as well as inspectors of the international level will be trained in Kazakhstan.
